Nursing was not my original career choice as I entered my freshman year in college. My first career choice was to be an orthopedic surgeon and follow in the long long traditon of medical doctors in the family.

It was not until my senior year in college that I chose the path of nursing. As I did extra curricular work in hospitals and worked as an EMT, I realized that I wanted to be a nurse.

I probably should change the title of this website one of these days as I am no longer a nursing student and a full fledge registered nurse. Anyway, here is a short exerpt of my nursing career so far.

After graduating from nursing school, I was able to find a job right away thanks to the many health and nurse job fairs available through my school. From there, I landed a job in Piedmont hospital where I ended up picking up the graveyard shift for a year. Being a young man, I wanted to do a bit more with my life which is when I ended up working as a travel nurse.

I actually found my current employer as I was browsing thru nursing blogs when I ran into the Ultimate Nurse Blog which made for fascinating reading. Since then, I have been on a great adventure and have had 4 assignments that have taken me to New York, Florida, Georgia and Colorado.

I intend on remaining a travel nurse for a few more years as I would like to continue my studies in nursing to become an anesthetic nurse.
